This years NAIDOC theme ‘Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!’ calls for a genuine commitment by everyone to keep rallying around our mob, our Elders and our communities.
This is a call for institutional change; it’s a call for truth telling, and to call out racism. Its a call to move beyond performative allyship and to build a relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians based on justice, equity and recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights.
This artwork is a reflection of our nation, showing the diversity and interconnection of our communities. The raised fist is a representation of Blak empowerment. It serves to celebrate our Elders who have driven change among our communities over generations, and reminds us of the road we have ahead.
Stand with First Nations peoples and communities every week, not just during NAIDOC Week. Expand your knowledge of Indigenous affairs, support Blak businesses, amplify First Nations voices, call out racism and celebrate the worlds oldest living culture.
